The Two Fatalities Revealed in the Providence Campus Attack as Law Enforcement Continue Hunt for Killer.

Two students who died in Saturday’s tragic incident on the university campus had tributes paid to them on Monday – as a manhunt for their killer carried on following the freeing by Rhode Island officials of the sole person detained in connection in the case.

Tributes for Ella Cook

The young woman Ella Cook, a sophomore from Alabama, was described as “an incredible, grounded, faithful, bright light”, according to the Birmingham's Cathedral Church of the Advent, which paid tribute to her at a ceremony on Sunday.

Cook was second-in-command of Brown’s branch of the campus GOP group, according to the organization. Karoline Leavitt also shared sympathies on social media, saying in part: “It's indescribable. Keeping in mind her loved ones and companions, above all her mom and dad.”

The Second Victim

The other deceased individual was MukhammadAziz Umurzokov from Uzbekistan, a citizen of Uzbekistan in his freshman year at the prestigious university, family members said.

Umurzokov’s identity was verified by Uzbekistan’s foreign ministry.

“He possessed remarkable kindness, humor, and intelligence. He had big dreams of entering the field of neurosurgery and helping people,” his sister, Samira Umurzokova said in a memorial statement.

Details of the Attack

Nine more persons were injured in Saturday’s attack in the engineering department of Brown’s campus in Providence, during the school’s final exam period.

Officials stated by the end of Sunday that a man aged 24 detained in a raid at a lodging about 17 miles from the scene earlier in the day was released from custody.

“We have a murderer out there,” stated Peter Neronha, Peter Neronha.

He continued, “Occasionally a probe goes down a path, and then you need to change course and go in another, and that’s exactly what has happened over the last 24 hours or so.”

Ongoing Concerns

Brett Smiley, Brett Smiley, noted: “We know that this is likely to cause renewed concern for our public”.

The gunman discharged a weapon inside a classroom in the engineering facility on Saturday, firing more than 40 rounds from a 9mm pistol, a authority informed the news agency.

Police that searched the lodging found two firearms and two loaded 30-round magazines when the suspect was detained, the news agency reported.

Those Hurt

Regarding the nine injured, one student was allowed to go home, mentioned Brown’s president, Christina Paxson. Seven others were in grave but unchanging health, and one was in critical condition, officials reported on Sunday.
