The Renowned Musician Calls On Support to Send Together for Palestine Track to UK Festive Top Spot.

A charity drive is aiming to launch a traditional song from Palestine to the Christmas number one spot. The effort hopes to deliver assistance to people in Gaza while also highlighting Palestinian culture and creativity.

An Opportunity for Unity and an "Chart Upset"

Composer and producer Brian Eno, who performs on the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a chance to show solidarity with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He remarked the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“It would be fantastic if that came to pass, yes,” he stated. “I won't be completely disappointed if it fails to, Christmas singles are a thing unto themselves.”

Resilient Spirit of Dignity and Freedom

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the adaptation of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's powerful central theme.

“The song holds a deeply meaningful spot for countless listeners,” Barghouti shared. “The essence is that I would choose to perish with honor than exist without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we desire to exist a life of dignity that we merit as a people.”

Recording Origins and Contributing Musicians

The track was produced following a solidarity show held in late summer. Initially planned to be performed and recorded live, the performance was cut from the show due to scheduling overruns.

The diverse array of musicians featured on Lullaby features a selection of prominent voices from the industry. All participated in the earlier concert, which managed to collect a considerable total for charitable causes.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was produced by a team of producers and composers. The track blends a mix of the traditional Arabic lyrics with freshly written English words.

The group managing the project have stated that their objective is to generate maximum funds for a dedicated fund. These proceeds will be distributed to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an established charity.

“We haven't set a rigid aim,” a spokesperson said. “We aim for whatever we can get. Naturally, the more the merrier. All proceeds are directed out to those in need in Gaza.”

The reality in the area was described as its widespread damage, with a huge proportion of property described as destroyed or damaged.

“Against that backdrop, a handful of millions doesn’t make a massive dent. But I think what truly matters is first of all spreading knowledge of this plight and showing the human dimension of the story.”

The single 'Lullaby' is set to be released at the end of the week. Additionally, a video of the solidarity show will be made accessible to view on a major video platform from the 19th of December.
