Salah Issues Statement to Teammates, Reveals Curtis Jones
Curtis Jones has disclosed that Mohamed Salah said sorry to the group of players after the fallout from his recent interview.
The Incident
The striker was dropped from a European match after criticising the club and claiming his rapport with Arne Slot had deteriorated.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I'm sorry.’”
The manager has previously declined to reveal on whether he got an explanation from the player.
Looking Ahead
The player stated that the dressing room atmosphere stayed normal. “He was his usual self, he was smiling and everybody was exactly the same with him,” Jones added.
The midfielder also noted that a teammate fighting for a place is preferable. “I understand there are different methods you can go about things,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just be on the bench, then I think that’s concerning.”
Team Form
The team's performance have stayed unbeaten in the matches since the initial controversy. The player is convinced the outburst were not intended to destabilise the squad.
“In moments of frustration, it has consistently come from a desire to win,” Jones concluded. “That chapter is closed and we’re building chemistry, performing and on a positive run.”
