I will stamp all over 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round contest which will be streamed live on the streaming platform.
British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to publicize the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Ex two-time unified heavyweight champion Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive mismatch - at Miami's arena on 19 December.
Fighter's Mindset
"I'm going to damage his features and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.
"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my goal."
Respectful Interaction
In spite of these statements, a composed Joshua and social media star Paul - typically known for his showmanship - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK rival Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Jake Paul's History
Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.
He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
However, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, consistently making massive earnings.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and stated he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is apparently in the works for 2026.
"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul said.
Physical Disparity
As the two fighters engaged in the traditional confrontation, with their height and weight contrast evident, it highlighted just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is truly happening.
